For those on a local hunt for some of the best Tonkatsu in Tokyo, Butagumi is the place to go.
Their menu includes many varieties of premium pork, mostly only for dinner time. They even have Sirloin of Jamón Ibérico as a premium option.
This last time I went for dinner I ordered Golden Boar Pork, and it was spectacular.
The options mainly divide into Pork Loin (ロースかつ膳) or Pork Fillet (フィレかつ膳). For those of you who are new to Tonkatsu, Pork Loin is the fattiest and fillet is better if you prefer leaner cuts.
Butagumi is open for lunch and dinner. However, premium pork is mostly available for dinner.
After your meal, you might want to go for a fruity cocktail (or two) to the Library Lounge These bar across the street. It is an excellent place to complement your dinner.
