*UPDATE: Omotesando Coffee closed and has reopened in another spot in Tokyo. Will update soon.
After a long day spent walking and shopping through the streets of Omotesando, there is nothing more rewarding than sipping amazing coffee in a quiet area and take a break from Tokyo’s chaos.
A few minutes from Omotesando Station, you will find Omotesando Koffee.
With the perfect mix of Japanese old-style architecture and contemporary design, everything in this place is impeccable. From the meticulously-designed branding and delicate interiors to the, even more, impeccable white outfit of the barista and owner Eiichi Kunimoto, whose technique and sounds made during his work resonate in harmony with the place.
You might have to make a line for several minutes, but I guarantee that watching this machine-like scene is very rewarding. If you are lucky enough, you might even find baked custard cubes, perfect for pairing with your coffee.
My favourite season to visit is autumn due to the beautiful Momoji tree found in the garden of the place.
*Update: Omotesando Koffee closed in 2015. Visit Toranomon Koffee to experience Eiichi Kunimoto’s approach to a fine-tasting espresso.
