Mori Art Museum
Mori Art Museum offers world-class exhibitions together with fantastic views of Tokyo. It is located on the 52nd and 53rd floors of the Mori Tower in Roppongi Hills. The program includes several gallery spaces, a bar, a cafe, a gift shop and a panoramic observation deck.
One of the interesting things of this museum is that it closes at 10 PM. Visitors can stay until late to enjoy Tokyo’s night view at night with a glass of wine at the bar. We bought the ticket that includes access to all of the exhibitions and spent around five hours inside.
This time, we visited Murakami’s “The 500 Arhats” exhibition. Mori Art Museum’s gallery space is very spacious and well lit. The exhibit rooms are well equipped with the best features to show the works of art in the best way possible.
Most of the exhibitions revolve around Contemporary Art including architecture, fashion, installation, mixed media, etc.
The museum also includes the Mori Arts Center Gallery, located next to the Observation Deck. This time, Foster + Partners exhibition was taking place there. It was interesting to see the beautiful architecture models inside a room with enormous windows showing Tokyo’s night-lit view. At the end of the exhibition, we got to the Mado Lounge bar where we enjoyed a nice drink while watching Foster’s speech video. What a great way to end the afternoon.
When we arrived at Mori Arts Museum, the weather was perfect to go up to the Skydeck. This was included in our ticket, so we decided to go before visiting the exhibitions and enjoy some sunlight.
